The First Day of New Year: 新年第一天

the first day of 2009 is the day of Wiener Philharmoniker's New Year Concert in Musikverein on Jan, 1st. 2009, the photo above is our tickets, we are very lucky to win the chances from its global drawing tickets procedure.

Wiener Philharmoniker's New Year Concert in Musikverein became actually a tradition rather than just a symphonic concert.  this year the concert and Wiener Philharmoniker is under Daniel Barenboim.

the concert was absolutly fantastic. it's such an amazing thing to watch the collaborating between a great conductor and the best orchestra in the world while enjoying the beautiful symphonic. the flowers for the conductor would be dispensed to all the audiences afterwards, which became also a tradition.

ps. about the ticket drawing: the only way to get the new year's concert ticket is via website registeration a year ahead and then random global tickets drawing. but as a matter of fact, because of the reservations for eg. Habsburg family and some individuals/organizations who may possess advanced membership of Wiener Philharmoniker or Musikverein (rumor has it, might be ca. €2000 annually), and considering the huge need from Japan every year(the japanese are really the biggest fan of this concert, seeing the groups of nice ladies in Kimono attending the concert then you'll understand). so, taking these factors into the occupation counts, the chance for any random registeration drew successfully from the tickets drawing would be really slim, in other words, the chance to win is slim. After the concert today I overheard some person from Detroit, US. saying that "the concert is great, and it's a chance for a life time, anyway", well, I believe he has a point.
