TOW Light & Shadow: Ian Fleming's Casino Royale

James Bond is back. And better.

There were two totally opposite opinions toward the new James Bond movie "Casino Royale". The group in the IMDB gave highly praised comments without hesitating, but some audience who have just seen it would not appreciate it at all. They say it's boring, and absolutely delusory with the love affair between Bond and Vesper. But for a Bond Fan who knows the James Bond not only from the silver screen but also literately, this movie will totally blow your mind.

Where this man comes from, where this man is going. That's the true essence from the novel Casino Royale. As the first novel of James Bond series from Ian Fleming, the figure of James Bond is so real that you would take him as such a real character more than any image all those movies gave you. He laughs,he fears. He has sorrow, he is hurt. He cries,he loves.

'My darling,' he said. 'Won't you tell me? Do you know, that first morning I was coming back to ask you to marry me. Can't we go back to the beginning again? What is this dreadful nightmare that is killing us?'

At first she said nothing, then a tear rolled slowly down her cheek.

'You mean you would have married me?'

Bond nodded.

'Oh my God,' she said. 'My God.' She turned and clutched him, pressing her face against his chest.

He held her closely to him. 'Tell me, my love,' he said. 'Tell me what's hurting you.'

Her sobs became quieter.

---Chapter 26 "Sleep Well, My Darling" , Casino Royale.

As I said, this movie is such a mind-blowing piece of work. It seizes you with every moment. Daniel Craig is such a wonderful James Bond, too. He gives James Bond such a meaningful figure in him. From the stone-cold agent, a killer, to a heart broken lover.

Good shooting scenes like Bond-African chasing, airport pursuit, intensive and surprisingly excited. and many little moments between Bond and Vesper. Funny, and touching.

Take this film as a nice story on silver screen which you would remember, instead of another killing agent movie. And you will love it.

Vesper: I'm the money.

Bond: Every penny of it.
